Meier Residence

The Meier project, designed by landscape architect Lue Svendson, turned the spaces around the home into a series of intimate gardens connected by custom pathways, layered planting beds, and water features. The design doesn't center on one large outdoor living area. Instead, it gives each part of the property its own character, with an easy flow from one space to the next. Along the side of the home, custom Flagstone walkways turn narrow passages into inviting garden paths. Beds full of greenery line the route and soften the brick exterior. Extensive drainage, irrigation, & LED Lighting systems were installed before the more aesthetic sides of the project began to come together.

New and refreshed beds of shrubs, flowering plants, and groundcovers bring color and texture close to the home. Mature trees and established vegetation behind them make the landscape feel natural, not newly installed. Sculptural fountains set among bamboo and dense greenery are focal points within the beds, and decorative stone at their base defines each one while keeping it part of the landscape. The finished property is a collection of connected garden spaces, with something new around every corner and a garden meant to be walked through.
