Flavin Residence

EdenScapes designed this backyard as a series of connected spaces linking the home, the spa, and the open lawn. Our work covered the hardscape, a raised spa, a fountain, the landscaping, sod, irrigation, drainage, and lighting. A paver patio extends from the covered porch and narrows into a curving walkway that sweeps across the yard to the spa. The spa is the backyard’s focal point: it’s wrapped in brick to match the home, with wide stone coping and a decorative waterline tile. Near the house, a disappearing fountain bubbles over a bed of smooth beach pebbles, adding the sound of moving water right off the porch.

Steel-edged beds of shrubs, tropical foliage, and seasonal color soften the brick and siding. River rock along the foundation keeps the beds clean and gives water somewhere to go. Fresh sod gives the yard a full, healthy lawn, and new trees are set in mulch rings to grow into the space over time. Below the surface, irrigation and drainage keep everything thriving through Louisiana’s heat and heavy rains. Low-profile path lights carry the yard into the evening, so the family can enjoy the spa, the patio, and the garden after dark.
